Jessica Schmidt

FOX19 NOW Reporter/Anchor
Cincinnati
Jessica Schmidt

Jessica joined the FOX19 NOW team in September 2016 as a nightside reporter and Sunday night anchor. She’s since moved into a different role as a weekday 3 p.m. anchor and as the afternoon Alert Desk anchor.

Jessica is also part of the investigative unit and special projects team where she focuses on the station’s award-winning Crime Vault series and is host of the FOX19 Crime Vault podcast.

The Cincinnati native is excited and honored to be back in her hometown doing what she loves after spending three years working at FOX19 NOW’s sister station, 14 News/WFIE in Evansville, Indiana. While at WFIE, Jessica was a weekend anchor, reporter, and producer. A highlight for her during her time there was getting the opportunity to travel to Washington D.C. four times to report on the area’s Honor Flight program.

Before moving to the Hoosier state, Jessica spent four years at Kent State University in the Honors College. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast news and a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Every semester, Jessica worked at TV2, the university’s completely student-run television station. She took on many different roles, including anchor, reporter, and the station’s news director. A college storytelling course also led her overseas to India where she spent two weeks reporting.

Jessica graduated from Lakota West High School and interned in the Queen City during college.

When Jessica isn’t reporting or anchoring, you can usually find her spending time with her husband, her family, or her friends, often catching a Reds, Bengals, or Cyclones game (because she’s a huge Cincy sports fan), or relaxing with her pets - her precious cats.

Feel free to reach out to Jessica anytime with story ideas, breaking news tips, or with cases that could be covered on the Crime Vault TV series or podcast. Her email is jschmidt@fox19now.com, and she is also active on Facebook.
