ATKINS, Va. (Gray News) - An Amber Alert issued for a 14-year-old Virginia girl, who was allegedly abducted, was canceled after she was found safe.

The Smyth County Sheriff’s Office said 14-year-old Julia Ashcroft was safe in a Facebook post. An Amber Alert had been issued for the teenager early Sunday morning after she was allegedly abducted from Atkins, Virginia.

The Amber Alert identified 28-year-old Michael Buchanan as a suspect in Julia’s alleged abduction. The sheriff’s office said on Facebook that the suspect was in custody.
