FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Salvation Army says they need the public’s help in achieving their holiday donation goals.

Salvation Army officials say as of Saturday, Dec. 3, the red kettles have only managed to bring in shy of $48,000. Their proposed goal was to have at least $233,000 raised by Christmas Eve, which is a little over two weeks away.

Officials say any amount counts towards the final goal, and also says that there are other ways people can help out.

Volunteers are needed to ring a bell at one of the various red kettle locations. Salvation Army says anyone willing to help can sign up and pick what location they would like to volunteer at.

Salvation Army also urges people who want to make any donations to find a red kettle location. They say cashless donations are also accepted via QR code scan, or you can even donate through their website.

Those that wish to donate in person are told to visit the Salvation Army at 2901 N. Clinton St.
