Pat Dyer Memorial Fund “Ticket to Ride” this Friday
Help raise money to purchase gas cards for cancer patients
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - A special event is coming up Friday night in The Fort at the Pine Valley Country Club. It’s the Pat Dyer Memorial Fund “Ticket to Ride.”
Bud Dyer founded the memorial fund in honor of his late wife, Pat. He lost her and his daughter, Jenee, to cancer. Bud says during Pat’s treatments, they often heard other cancer patients talk about the struggle to be able to pay for gas to get to and from appointments.
Each year, a dinner and big silent auction are held to help raise money that goes to buying gas cards for cancer patients and their families who qualify so they never have to miss those crucial appointments.
