Allen County Coroner IDs motorcyclist in fatal crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a motorcycle crash that happened on August 11, 2022.

The coroner’s office says on August 21, they were notified of the death of Bruce Scott Hoppas, 55, from Columbia City.

Hoppas was critically injured in a crash involving a semi-tractor at the intersection of Cook Road and U.S. 33.

An autopsy by the coroner’s office determined that Hoppas died from multiple blunt force injuries. Hoppas’ manner of death has been ruled an accident by the coroner’s office.

Hoppas is the 28th fatal motor vehicle crash in Allen County for 2022.
