FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - Loved ones of a woman killed in an apparent murder-suicide describe abusive and excessive behavior from the victim’s ex-boyfriend, leading him to take her life and then his own.

Early Monday morning at the Griswold Estates in Auburn, police say 37-year-old Edward Conboy held 35-year-old Heather Harmon at gunpoint and forced his way into her car.

Police caught up with them and detectives say Conboy forced Harmon to keep driving.

But then, police say Conboy shot Harmon before turning the gun on himself.

In an exclusive interview with Fort Wayne’s NBC’s Julian Teekaram, the victim’s family say they’re still processing their loss.

They say although Harmon broke up with Conboy two years ago and she had a protective order against him, he continued to pursue her.
