FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - History made on Tuesday when former Bishop Dwenger pitcher turned Ivy Tech flame-thrower Mat Peters was selected in the 12th round of the 2022 MLB Draft by the Chicago Cubs, becoming the first player to be taken within the Titans program.

Peters shot up to six-foot-four entering the JUCO level and blew scouts away with his emerging fastball that clocked triple digits on radar guns.

Peters says his fastball sits around 95-98 miles per hour and can hit up to 103 mph, now.
