Allen County Coroner IDs man in Willshire Estates shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified the man that was found dead inside a home on the 4000 block of Willshire Estates Drive, Tuesday.

The coroner’s office says around 8:15 a.m., Than Zaw Oo, 42, had been in a domestic dispute with his wife before shooting her. When his wife ran to a neighbor’s home, Oo barricaded himself inside.

The Fort Wayne Police Emergency Services Team and the Critical Response Team tried to convince Oo to leave his home but were unsuccessful, the coroner’s office says. Oo was pronounced dead at the scene just before 11 a.m. A rifle was found nearby.

Oo’s cause of death has been determined to be a gunshot wound to the chest, after an autopsy. Oo’s manner of death has been ruled a suicide by the coroner’s office.

The incident is under investigation.
