Nailers shutout Komets, 1-0, capturing series opener

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - The Wheeling Nailers skate away with a, 1-0, shutout victory over the Komets in the series opener.
Wheeling’s Patrick Watling scored the only goal of the evening with 4.7 seconds to go in first period on a redirect.
Beyond giving up a goal with seconds to go in the first frame, Samuel Harvey was reliable in the net saving 22 shots faced.
On the other hand, Wheeling’s Louis-Philip Guindon was dynamite, finishing game one denying 34 shots.
Game two of the series between the Komets and Nailers is set for Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
