Police are asking drivers to avoid several busy Fort Wayne streets because of power outage on city's north side(Fort Wayne's NBC)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - UPDATE: Power has now been restored to all affected customers and driving advisory lifted, according to an Indiana Michigan Power alert sent out around 10:10 Friday night. See article below for background information:

Authorities sent out a mass alert, asking drivers to avoid several busy areas of the city because of a power outage that began around 8:30 Friday night.

Police were asking drivers to avoid Coliseum Boulevard between Lima Road and Clinton Street. The notice also included Coldwater Road between Washington Center and Coliseum.

An outage map from Indiana Michigan Power showed some 1,500 people were without power just after 9:00 Friday night on the city’s north side. No word on the cause of the outage. We’ll continue to share information with you as we learn it.
