FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - The Lutheran Basketball Association of America’s 74th Annual Tournament will be held in Fort Wayne this weekend for the first time. Turnstone- Plassman Athletic Center will host the tournament with over 60 teams. The Opening Ceremony will be at the Concordia Theological Seminary on Thursday, March 17th at the Wambsganss Gymnasium.

Valparaiso University has been the home of the basketball tournament for the past 73 years, but new vaccine requirements on campus forced tournament organizers to seek out a new host. Visit Fort Wayne expects the event to bring in over 2,000 visitors from across the country.

“Opportunities like this introduce Fort Wayne as a possible host destination for future, national opportunities of this caliber. We are honored to host the LBAA’s prestigious tournament and look forward to welcoming their teams to Fort Wayne knowing they’re in great hands with our friends at Turnstone,” said Jazmin Zavala, Sports Sales Manager at Visit Fort Wayne.
