Woman convicted in Rochester School Bus Tragedy to be released from prison Wednesday

FULTON COUNTY, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - A Rochester, Indiana woman who hit and killed 3 children with her pickup at a bus stop and critically injured a fourth is scheduled to be released from prison Wednesday.

Alyssa Shepherd received a 10-year sentence in late 2019. She hit and killed 9-year old Alivia Stahl and 6-year old twins Mason and Xzavier Ingle in the morning hours of Oct. 30, 2018 as the children boarded their school bus. Shepherd said she didn’t see the children. Shepherd’s four year sentence release date was moved up after she completed a Bible study course while behind bars. Court officials say Shepherd will serve the remainder of her sentence on home detention. Her driver’s license was suspended until 2032.
