INDOT trucks on full callout for second day of snow
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - The northeast division of the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says it is working at full capacity as the second day of heavy snow moves through the area.
INDOT said in a Tweet that the department is working on a full callout, and 130 trucks are working to clear the roads across The Fort and surrounding areas. However, they say it will take some time for road conditions to improve with more snow on the way.
As of Thursday morning, Allen County and many other counties in northeast Indiana are under a travel warning, meaning travel is restricted to emergency management workers only.
Plan to leave early and take it way slow if you need to be out today! We continue to operate under a full call out and have over 130 #YellowTrucks out taking care of the roadways, but it will be awhile before conditions improve thanks to more snow today. #INDOTWinterOps pic.twitter.com/t6XutKOLoE
