FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - Indiana State Police plan to give an update as we near the two-year anniversary of the discovery of a murder that rocked a small Indiana community.

The Carroll County prosecutor requested the update, where police and the FBI will share the latest details on the 2-year-old double murder.

14-year-old Liberty German and 13-year-old Abigail Williams disappeared on Feb. 13, 2017, while hiking near their hometown of Delphi. Their bodies were found the next day in a wooded area.

The mystery surrounding the disturbing murders captured attention around the country, partly because a photo on Libby German’s recovered cellphone shows the image of a man who police believe is a suspect.

There was also an audio clip on the phone, with the voice of a man saying, “Down the hill.”

Indiana State Police say they investigate every tip. So far, they’ve received more than 30,000 tips in the past 2 years.
