FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - Mask rules are back in place at Purdue University located in West Lafayette.

As one of Indiana’s major public universities, on Monday, students staff, and others must begin to wear a mask while indoors.

Regardless of vaccination status, masks must be worn on the West Lafayette campus.

The shift back to a “mask mandate” follows recommendations from the CDC and the Indiana Department of Health this week.

The decision has been left up to individual schools and colleges on whether to follow.

Purdue University Fort Wayne has not, according to its online policy page, put a mask requirement back in place.
