FWPD arrest suspect in connection to Tuesday afternoon shooting
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - Police arrested a man who they say was involved in the shooting that happened Tuesday afternoon, leaving one man dead.
FWPD says they were called just after 2:30 to a disturbance at the Villages of Hanna apartments, on Eden Street.
When officers arrived, they saw a window that was shot out and noticed a blood trail on the ground.
While talking with witnesses, police say the victim walked into a hospital and was said to be in life-threatening condition. He was later pronounced dead.
On Wednesday morning, police arrested 25-year-old Derrick D. Dennis II in connection to the shooting.
According to police, he is charged with murder, which is a level 1 felony.
