FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - Fort Wayne Police are hoping surveillance photos of a person of interest wanted in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash on Easter Sunday will spark someone’s memory.

Just before 1 a.m. on April 4, first responders were called to a wreck at the intersection of McKinnie Avenue and Lafayette Street. Some people inside one of the cars had fled the scene.

Police said four people in the other vehicle involved were all injured. One of those victims died at the scene. The coroner’s office identified the fatal crash victim as 17-year-old Samayah Nirobie Barker, of Monroe, Indiana.

Investigators now want to speak with a person of interest in connection with the deadly wreck. Police believe the man is about 5′8″ tall, is a slender to average build, in his 20s and possibly walks with a limp.

He was last seen wearing a long-sleeve black shirt with blue jeans. If you have any information about this person, you’re asked to call Crime Stoppers at (260) 436-7867 or use the free “P3 Tips” App.
